Magic Engineering, leveraging the experience and innovation developed through Magicmotorsport, is looking for a Senior Design Engineer capable of developing innovative solutions for mechanical challenges by optimizing materials, costs, and technologies.
Your role
As Senior Design Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions, contributing to the entire product lifecycle, from prototyping to industrialization. You will collaborate closely with the Research & Development, Quality, and Production teams to ensure high technical standards and product reliability. We are looking for a senior professional with a strong problem-solving mindset, a hands-on approach, and solid expertise in mechanical design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative mechanical components and systems, from concept to industrialization;
- Create 2D/3D CAD models and manage related technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, revisions);
- Perform reverse engineering activities through 3D scanning and reconstruction of parametric solid models;
- Analyze dimensional tolerances and ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements;
- Collaborate on the implementation of virtual simulations and design validation activities;
- Optimize production and assembly processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost reduction;
- Support the Quality team in defining product verification strategies and control procedures;
- Collaborate with the supply chain and suppliers in the selection of materials, technologies, and manufacturing solutions;
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and cost constraints in coordination with the Mechanical Engineering Manager;
Technical Requirements & Key Skills
- At least 7 years of experience in similar roles within the mechanical design field;
- Proven experience in CAD design, preferably using Solid Edge;
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis;
- Expertise in industrial materials, including plastics, metals, and polymers;
- Knowledge of main manufacturing and mechanical processing technologies (plastic molding, turning, milling, bending, laser cutting, additive manufacturing, welding, painting);
- Familiarity with advanced metrology and measurement tools (CMM, micrometers, roughness testers, etc.);
- Knowledge of mechanical design and safety standards (ISO, ASME, DIN, ASTM, Machinery Directive);
- Experience in BOM management and production cycle optimization;
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems (e.g. SolidRules, TeamcenterX) is considered a plus;
- Experience with virtual simulations and FEM analysis is considered a plus;
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills;
