Basic online programming course, Riga, Latvia

Magicmotorsport in collaboration with Modsperformance will conduct a basic online course on chiptuning.

The course will start with the basics of chip tuning and ECU reprogramming and cover all of Magicmotorsport’s flagship products: Flex, DynoRoad, and MagBench.

Program

Introduction:

10:00 -10: 30
1- Introduction (presentation of the company and the their chiptuning experience)
2- Briefing (Interview with each student: Where do you come from? What’s your main job? Your experience in the world of automotive electronics?)

Main Course:

10:30 – 13:30 (3h)

1- Introduction to chiptuning (What is it? What are the goals of chip tuning? Repair / deactivation DTC / DPF / EGR / Adblue)
2 – ECU Introduction — What is the ECU and what does it do? Main manufacturers and their characteristics: (Bosch EDC16 / 17 / MDG1, Siemens, Denso, Transtron, Magneti Marelli)
3 – Types of ECU/TCU memory and processors (EDC16 – External memory (flash drive), external EEPROM. EDC17 – Memory and EEPROM in processor. MDG1 blocks)
4 – Protection of the ECU from unauthorized program changes. Checksum. TPROT
5 – Tools overview (tool versatility, bypass protection, dealer equipment replacement)
6 – Tools needed to work with ECU (Flex, MagBench, Dynoroad)

9 – Purpose of reading and writing the program (Turning off systems, tuning, cloning) and choice of the operating method

13:30 – 14:10

Practice: 14:10 – 16:10

1- Diagnostics and preparation for necessary changes in case of system repair / shutdown (basic control of units, removal of unnecessary sensors)
2 – Datalog in case of tuning
3 – Identification of the block model; search for the type of block and make / model of the car
4 – Connection and reading of the control panel in Bench mode
Uploading a file to the portal and placing an order ( opening a ticket and other difficulties)
5 – Write a modified file; check the integrity of the block; test

6 – Re-diagnosis datalog

Questions and answers

The course will be held in Russian. The maximum number of participants is set at 20.

All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
