A dynamometer, or dyno for short, is a device for the measurement force, moment of force (torque), or power. For example, the power produced by an engine, motor or other rotating prime mover can be calculated by simultaneously measuring torque and rotational speed (rpm).
First, Install DynoRoad on the vehicle wheel in the non-drive axle.
After mounting the dynamometric probe with the supplied connections, press the ON / OFF switch.
After pressing the ON/OFF button, the white STATUS LED flashes.
From this moment on it will be possible to connect the car dyno to the App and be guided in the power tests.
Fasten your seat belts and start your engine: after activating the device through the MAGICMOTORSPORT account, the configuration will be started.
In the first screen, configure the measurement by specifying the parameters: name and brand of the vehicle, size and mass, and tire size.
You can calibrate DynoRoad by maintaining 3000RPM for 5 seconds, while moving your vehicle at least 30 kmh in 4th gear. Additionally, you can change these settings to accommodate different vehicles by adjusting RPM level, gear choice and elapsed time to your desired values.
The measurement involves two phases:
Phase 1. Acceleration
Phase 2. Automatic deceleration after idle. The second phase lasts about 10 seconds. The program automatically signals the end of the deceleration phase with an acoustic signal.
Press GO to start measuring. The message "you can move" is displayed. Vehicle power measurement is usually done in third or fourth gear in the available engine speed range.
To accurately calculate the torque and obtain the correct graph, it is advisable to move the vehicle in first and second gear at low speed, then after engaging the third or fourth gear, launch the measurement.
The application also allows you to enter a very precise acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h, up to 200 km / h, and drive for a ¼ mile stretch during which engine performance can be measured and evaluated.
Regardless of the transmission type, the GO button and the accelerator pedal will be in the same position.
After reaching the required speed or measuring range, the vehicle can be stopped. When braking the power values will be incorrect, but the acceleration results will be correct and will automatically appear on the screen when a certain speed is reached on a stretch of road.
DynoRoad is available on our online store, shippable all over the world.
